Quick weekend project…

We had a letter from the Association that we had to replace a missing light on our garage in the back alley.  The giant, horrible brass light (that Darling hated) mysteriously disappeared a while ago and never got replaced.  So we switched one of the small brass lights from the house to that spot and replaced the ones we see with 3 new ones from Lowes.  They are so old fashioned and cute to me…maybe other people find them cheap and ugly, I don’t know…but for $4.56 each, I am happy with the update.

Before:

We moved this one to the back of the garage because we were not sure if we’d have to have the new kind approved first etc.  So hopefully this one is acceptable to them.

After:

What do you think?  I want to put some classic bulbs in here so you can appreciate the vintage look of these…

PS  The good news about this is that the Association didn’t mention anything about my front door color!   I think I am supposed to get permission before changing paint colors!

I love these…

I kept forgetting to take a pic of these!  I know it is probably weird to get excited about towels…but I do LOVE these.  I purchased these from Homegoods with a credit (I have bought and returned items on this same $20 credit about 3 times before being happy with my purchase!).  They are sweet and fun for the summer.  And a little bit Anthropologie looking in my mind…They also remind me of Russian nesting dolls somehow.  I like that.  Also they remind me of all the Amy Butler, Anna Marie Horner type fabric that I love.

New Treasure from last weekend’s garage sales

I know it is a little bit weird.  That is why we liked it (Darling came with garage sale-ing last Sat, so fun!).  It is an aluminum table base for $10.  We have been looking for a large outside table for the back yard.  I think it is 60′s?  It is kind of Seussical and definitely over the top…not sure if we will keep it this color or what.  Darling thought it would be fun to remove the paint and just keep it aluminum.  But my other outside furniture purchase from this year is white painted aluminum as well.  It needs either a glass or plexiglass top cut for it.  I am thinking we can have a hole cut in the center for an umbrella…so I am leaning towards plexiglass so I don’t have to worry about the kids knocking it over or a gust of wind picking the umbrella up and knocking the table over etc.  I need to look for more chairs to go with it…hmmmm…

Thank you Grams!

Look Grams!  Here is what Mila got with her birthday money!  Two t shirts and a sweater on sale from Mini Boden.  And we ordered these precious pink and red Asian doll beads to make bracelets…so fun!  And see the sparkle shoes,  from Target (also she got a pack of Hello Kitty big girl panties, in the hope that we made need them soon…)?  And a couple of reusable snack bags with the Japanese doll motif are coming from etsy!  Thank you so much!
